Last week was our 35th annual CSP Tideriders Award and Recognition Dinner and we were filled to capacity.  It was a standing room only event!  Thanks so much to all that helped to make this another memorable night.  We wanted to share with everyone our booklet from the night, along with the winners.  Check the website next week to see pictures of all the fun and award winners! 1 p style="text-align: center;">      

Colleen Young has been traveling and swimming with the Paralympic National Team in Scotland and Germany over the past two weeks. Today at the German Open Colleen set a new American Record in the 200 meter Breaststroke. Congratulations Colleen!   

Colleen Young has been named to the USA Team that will swim at the 2014 Pan Pacific Para-Swimming Championships. The meet will be held this August  6th - 10th in Pasadena, California. Congratulations Colleen! This news comes as Colleen is preparing to leave on Tuesday for Glasgow, Scotland and Berlin, Germany to attend both the British Open and the German Open swim meets representing the USA as a member of the USA Para-Swimming National Team. Please join us in wishing Colleen a great trip with fast swimming.

This past weekend Colleen Young competed at the 2014 Spring CanAm Paralympic National Meet in Miami, Florida. Colleen did a great job winning 6 of the 7 events she competed in, placing 2nd in the other event. Colleen won the 100 and 200 Breast, 100 and 200 Back, 200 IM, and 400 Free in the S13 catagory. BRIAN L. FINLAY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND The Brian L. Finlay Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established at CSP by an anonymous donor.  This Scholarship is to memorialize Brian’s involvement in competitive swimming as both an athlete and as a parent of CSP swimmers.  At our annual team’s banquet, a graduating senior who will be continuing their swimming career, will receive this scholarship. *Donations are welcome, just send a check into the office and note that it is for the Brian L. Finlay Memorial Scholarship.

Heat Lightening Meet was a fun event for all who attended.  It seems that since January, all of our meets have been high intensity and high stress level for the coaches and swimmers.  It was nice to have a meet where the kids could just focus on racing fast and having fun.  Those swimmers who had yet to leave for Spring Break had a blast this past weekend. Congratulations to the CSP Tideriders on the 2014 Ozark 8 & Under Championship.  This makes for a clean sweep of all the Ozark Championship for the 2013 – 2014 Short Course Season. Both the Girls and the Boys won their age groups, and Lily Hsieh scored the most points for CSP and finished in third place for the Girls High Point. Relay Highlights included: First place finish for the girls 100 Free relay team of Charlotte Collier, Kennedy McGowan, Lily Hsieh and Everdine Ferguson, while Hennessy McGowan, Losan Huang, Delia Zacks...

  The CSP Tideriders took to the pool again this past weekend at the Speedo Central Sectional Region VIII Championships held in Jenks, Oklahoma. The meet is a Senior competition requiring qualifying times featuring more than 50 teams from 5 states. The States are Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma. CSP came in 6th place as a combined team, 4th place as a women’s team, and 12th place as a men’s team. Another Division I Championship has come and gone, and CSP Tideriders are once again on top.  Typical of the winter we have had this year, the weather came in to play again on Sunday of this meet.  The force that our team showed on Sunday, showed the commitment our coaches, families and swimmers have.  A key to Sunday was being able to field all of our relays.  In fact all weekend long, we did not lose one relay to DQ.  This is an important factor when you realize that relays...
