CSP Tideriders had another great meet. With 195 swimmers attending, we had a number of swimmers get lifetime best times and got new cut standards. Way to go, Tideriders! Allie Maloney, a member of our Elite group and a Senior at Cor Jesu Academ, has made her decision to attend the United States Naval Academy. The US Naval Academy is a federal service academy located in Annapolis, Maryland. Allie will leave in June to join the Midshipmen to swim and study. Navy is an NCAA Division I University that competes in the Patriot League. Please join me in congratulating Allie on making such a big decison! Go Midshipmen!

After closing the short course season on a high note and taking a bit of a break from meets, the CSP Tideriders came in HOT at the Edwardsville Long Course Kick Off (LCKO) meet. CSP brought over 250 swimmers and covered over 9,000 points quadrupling the second place team. Congratulations to all the swimmers on a fantastic start to our long course season. CSP repeated as Spring Sectional Champions, our 3rd victory in the last 4 years, and broke 3,000 points for our first time. We took 59 athletes and 55 relays, our largest team ever, to this year’s meet at the University of Missouri. We were the biggest team at the meet again this year. The CSP Tideriders have dominated the 8 & Under Championship since we began racing almost 30 years ago. We have won every year but three in that time! This past weekend, CSP hosted a relays meet in searches to take down national records. There were three relays that occurred that were all mixed (2 boys and 2 girls) relays, 200 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Medley Relay. 200 Free Relay consisted of JP Costello, Grayson Langdon, Vivie Murphy and Emma Fouke. Their time of 1:41.74 stacked up 5th Nationally. 200 Medley Relay consisted of JP, Grayson, Indie Layton and Emma. With a few weeks left before Sectionals, CSP sent a limited number of swimmers to this year’s Senior Champs and swam to a strong fourth place finish.
