The 86th CSP Summer Invitational was a huge success. This is the 2nd longest running meet in USA Swimming, and the coaches spent many hours leading up, during and after the meet. From just doing entries for CSP, taking entries from other teams, scheduling workers, setting up every morning and shutting down every night, and of course working with all of our swimmers during the meet, the coaches wore many hats this past weekend. This past week, CSP sent 22 swimmers to Open Water Zones and the results were amazing! CSP were 22 out of the 32 that competed for Ozark Swimming. Nora Lee Brown was 2nd, Lexi Cook was 4th and Noel Rice was 12th for the Girls in the 5K, while Max Marcus was 4th, Henry Mura was 13th and Keegan Brown was 14th for the Boys 5K. Sydney will compete this week at the Olympic Trials, being held in Indiana. Sydney will race the 200 Back and 400 IM. Today she had the whole pool to herself as she got in a warm up before her racing begins.

Schooooools out.. For.. Summer! Over 230 CSP swimmers attended the first long course meet following the end of school. Scout Jackson achieved her first NCSA Cut, coming in the 100 back and then got her second cut in the 50 Free. CSP took Mother’s Day weekend to Lenexa, Kansas and competed in the Rose Memorial Swim Meet. We had over 53 swimmers attend this prelim/final meet and had many outstanding performances by all of our swimmers! Emma Fouke broke the 11-12 Girls 800 Free Record. Allie Maloney, a member of our Elite group and a Senior at Cor Jesu Academ, has made her decision to attend the United States Naval Academy. The US Naval Academy is a federal service academy located in Annapolis, Maryland. Allie will leave in June to join the Midshipmen to swim and study. Navy is an NCAA Division I University that competes in the Patriot League. Please join me in congratulating Allie on making such a big decison! Go Midshipmen!
