CSP Wins Division I Championship
Another Division I Championship has come and gone, and CSP Tideriders are once again on top. Typical of the winter we have had this year, the weather came in to play again on Sunday of this meet. The force that our team showed on Sunday, showed the commitment our coaches, families and swimmers have. A key to Sunday was being able to field all of our relays. In fact all weekend long, we did not lose one relay to DQ. This is an important factor when you realize that relays are double points for each relay that places. We won three of the six age groups (10 & Under Girls and Boys and 13 – 14 Girls) and came in second in another (13 – 14 Boys). In a meet where the final score between first and second was only 153 points, every point counts.
Special thanks goes out to our officials who worked all weekend, Joanne Graham, Tania Hillmer,Rob Jurotich and Kelly Porter. Without officials, we would not be able to hold these meets!
Some interesting numbers from the meet include:
CSP had 20% of the entrants
CSP had 22% of the total individual swims
CSP had 23% of the total relays
CSP had the lowest % of no shows from the Top 5 teams
While as a team, CSP was outstanding, we also had some great individual accomplishments as well. Madeleine Collier was second in the 10 & Under Girls High Point, and broke her own 50 Free team record leading off the 200 Free Relay. Henry Hardeman placed 3rd in the 10 & Under Boys High Point.
