The Open Water 5K National Championships were held today, Sunday June 12th, in the Atlantic Ocean in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Taylor Maurer and Sarah Finlay from the Elite group both swam the race and did a fantastic job. Taylor finished 18th and Sarah finished 34th out of 76 qualified siwmmers. Congratulations to Taylor and Sarah on such great swims at Nationals.   

On Saturday, Coaches Lanette and Mark, met with 14 swimmers who bid at the CSP Trivia Night to go to the movies with the coaches.  We saw African Cats and everyone had a great time.  Both Lanette and Mark were so pleased with the turnout and thought that all of the kids were just fantastic.  We are hoping to do it again next year and are hoping for more people to attend as well.  Thanks so much to Harriett and Dixon Bezzant, Sean and Laura Carmody, Alex Fox, Sophia Garland,...

We would like to congratulate one of our athletes for some accomplishments and honors that she has earned this past year.  Last year Colleen participated in a meet in Greece representing the United States.  This past spring at Nationals, she won the 200 Breast,  and was just recently informed that the time she went in that event was fast enough to earn her a spot on the USA National Team.  This summer she will be traveling at different meets fulfilling her commitments to the National Team while gearing up for the 2012...

At the Trivia Night a couple of weeks ago we had two swimmers who won the chance to be "Coach for the Day."  This is one of the most anticipated practices of the year by most swimmers in the groups that participate. This past weekend CSP’s Elite group participated in the Central Sectional Region VIII Championships in Oklahoma City. The Central Sectional Championships is a senior championship meet for swimmers in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Southern Illinois, Oklahoma and Arkansas. CSP was represented by 38 athletes who all did an exceptional job. The CSP team placed 4th overall, with the women’s team placing 5th and the men’s team placing 7th.
