Coach of the Day - A Tale of Two Coaches
At the Trivia Night a couple of weeks ago we had two swimmers who won the chance to be "Coach for the Day." This is one of the most anticipated practices of the year by most swimmers in the groups that participate.
Winning for the Varsity Squad was Alex Miller. Alex was a mix of coach and task master with his group. At one point Sara and I had teased Alex that we were going to take off for a while and he looked at us and said, "Don't leave, they may kill me!" He did a great dryland routine mixing running, strength and core before bringing them into the pool to put them through many laps of whatever came to his mind. He also played a great game of false start before bringing the practice to a close.
In the Senior Group, Brett McBride on the other hand had a total different approach to the day. We were told before he got there it would be kickball till dark and then Sharks and Minnows the rest of the day. They weren't far off, we played some hot box prior to the kickball and then after a long game of kick ball we went inside. The kids finished the night with some free time and a fun game of Sharks and Minnows.
See if you can figure out from the pictures which swimmer was which coach!
Congrats to both Alex and Brett on job well done.
