Final day of central states senior champs ended with CSP girls winning the team title, the CSP boys placing second overall, and as a team, CSP won the whole meet. Congrats to all of those athletes who competed at this meet. Individually, Sarah Finlay finished 3rd in High Point for the girls. CSP walked away with 41 total medals. CSP Tideriders sent 17 athletes to the 2012 Central States Senior Championships and those athletes started off the first day with a bang. Taylor Maurer placed 4th in the 400 IM for the girls while Luke Sloan was 4th, Michael Seifert was 8th and Jack Finlay was 9th for the boys. Day 2 of zones has been pretty good for the Tideriders.  Competing on relays this morning were Christina Jurotich, Melissa Melnick, Lydia Welty and Justin Andrews.   In the evening relays, Lydia swam Breast and Melissa anchored the 2nd place 200 Medley Relay, while Justin was selected to anchor the boys relay.   Lydia swam the  200 IM and placed 10th in the 200 Breast.  Justin swam in the 200 IM and finished in 3rd 400 Free, the 3rd fastest time in Tiderider history.  Melissa placed in the 8th in...

Zones has begun and day one has been a good one for the TIDERIDERS. Justin Andrews placed in the 6th 400 IM and 3rd in the 200 Free. Lydia Welty placed 9th in the 100 breast and 4th in the 400 IM. Placing 6th in the 800 Free was Lexi Daniels. Competing in the 200 Free Relays were Erin Kelly, Audrey Kelly, Melissa Melnick, and Justin. We ran our annual time trial meet for the summer on Monday, June 23, and what a meet it was!  We were hoping to get some swimmers new Zone Cuts, A times and BB times, and our athletes did more than we could have imagined.  For the meet, we had 82% best times. Ashley Daniels, Lexi Daniels and Melissa Melnick all added two more zone cuts each, while Lauren Beard added the 100 Fly to her event list. The girls team of Melissa Melnick, Audrey Kelly, Lydia Welty, and Sarah Finaly shattered the 13-14 Girls 400 free relay team and ozark record at the Irish aquatic meet this weekend. Their time of 4:07.38 was 4.5 seconds faster than the previous record.

Congratulations goes out to Colleen Young who made the US Paralympic Olympic team this weekend.  Colleen's performance in the 100 Breast this weekend placed her second in the world in her classification, while setting the American Record in the 50 Meter Breast going out in her 100 and then shattering her own American Record in the 100 Breast by almost two seconds.  To read more about the US Team, click here.  Congratulations on a great job Colleen!
