CSP Had 51 athletes attend this Summer’s Sectional Championships held at the University of Missouri this past week. Despite having many of our athletes just swimming in one or two days of the meet we placed 4th as a team. The Girl’s took home the 3rd place trophy and the Boy’s ended up 7th. The 87th CSP Summer Invitational was another huge success. This is the 2nd longest running meet in USA Swimming, and the coaches spent many hours leading up, during and after the meet. From just doing entries for CSP, taking entries from other teams, scheduling workers, setting up every morning and shutting down every night, and of course working with all of our swimmers during the meet, the coaches wore many hats this past weekend. This past week, CSP sent 12 swimmers to Open Water Zones in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and the results were amazing! Eight out of the 10 Ozark swimmers that placed in the Top 8 were Lexi Cook was 1st, Noel Rice was 5th and Nina Schuerer was 8th for the Girls in the 5K, while Keegan Brown was 8th for the Boys 5K. Sydney Schoeck, a member of our Elite Group, competed this past week at USA Swimming Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana. This meet was a World Champ trials meet. Sydney performed great, becoming the fastest swimmmer ever in the 800 Free and 400 IM for Ozark Swimming. She had several finals swims. CSP traveled to Lenexa, Kansas and competed in the Rose Memorial Swim Meet. With the largest team there we had over 86 swimmers attend this prelim/final meet and had many outstanding performances by all of our swimmers! CSP Tideriders had another great meet for the second meet in long course. With 199 swimmers attending, we had a number of swimmers get lifetime best times and got her cut standards. After finishing up with the short course season, CSP brought 243 swimmers to the first long course meet of the season hosted at Edwardsville. With only being back in the water for 2 weeks after Spring Break, CSP totaled almost 10,000 team points (9740.5). CSP wins 3rd straight Spring Sectional Championship, our 4th victory in the last 5 years. This was a very successful meet for our team. We took 51 athletes and 49 relays, to this year’s meet at the University of Missouri. We were the biggest team at the meet again this year. The CSP Tideriders have dominated the 8 & Under Championship since we began racing almost 30 years ago. We have won every year but three in that time. This year, CSP was once again finished on top!
