This past weekend 30 swimmers from our Senior Elite group represented CSP at the 2010 Long Course Speedo Sectional Championships in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Our athletes did a great job and we finished in 3rd place overall. Our men placed 3rd as a team and our women were 6th as a team. At the 2010 Ozark Short Course Champs, the CSP Tideriders finished in 4th place out of 20 local swim clubs. In individual Age Groups, CSP finished in the Top 3 in the 13 - 14 Girls, 13 - 14 Boys, and the 15 & Over Girls. Overall we were very pleased with all performances turned in by the CSP Tideriders! CSP was represented by Cody Adams and Evan Noble at this weekends Illinois Boys High School State Swimming and Diving Championships. Evan swam to 7th place in the 200 IM and a 4th place finish in the 100 Back. While Cody swam and placed 41st in the 100 Back. Congratulations to Cody and Evan on such good performances.

Evan just received word that he will be competing in Barcelona, Spain June 6th - 11th, 2010 with the National Youth Team. Evan is very excited about the news and having the opportunity to represent the USA in June. Evan was named to the National Youth Team in September and has been waiting to find out when and where he would compete with the team. Maddie Wall of the Ladue High School Swim Team and a Senior Elite swimmer for the CSP Tideriders, was named a Post Dispatch Athlete of the Week on December 23, 2009. From the Post Dispatch: At the Lindbergh Invitational on Saturday, Wall, a sophomore, set pool and event records in winning the 200 freestyle (1:53.68) and 500 freestyle (5:09.57). CSP had 4 young men named to the Post Dispatch All-Metro Swim Team. Andrew Dalton of Chaminade and Nate Weiss of Francis Howell North were named to the first team based on their state meet performances. Tim Benage of Chaminade was named to the second team and Destry Newton of Ladue was named to the third team. Congratulations to these boys for this recognition.
For the second year in a row a male athlete of CSP has received this award. The award is given each year to a Male and Female athlete that is voted by the Ozark LSC to have been the Swimmer of the Year. Daniel Miller won the award last year. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Swim a Thon. This year we challenged Age Group I, Junior Varsity, Competitive Prep I, and Varsity to raise more money than they did last year. The goal was more than $14,661. These groups far exceeded that amount, raising more than $22,500! Because of them reaching this goal, those swimmers who brought in more than $100 got to shave Coach Mark's hair and then those swimmers who raised more than $300 were able to put tattoos on his head.
