Senior and Elite Swimmers from CSP attended the Parkway Broken 400 IM on Wednesday night. The concept is that swimmers swim the 100 Fly, then the 100 Back, then 100 Breast and finally the 100 Free. Every year, USA Swimming athletes are swimming many events within many meets. USA keeps track of two different rankings, one called the IMX and the other is IM Ready. To place within the IMX, a swimmer must compete in the following events to qualify: 10 & Under: 200 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Fly, and 200 IM 11 – 12 Year Olds: 500 Free, 100 Back, 100 Breast, 100 Fly and 200 IM 13 & Older: 500 Free, 200 Back, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 200 IM & 400 IM...
CSP hosted it's first intra squad meet of the season for the Age Group, JV, Varsity, Senior II & Senior swimmers at Westminster Christian Academy. This meet was an opportunity for our athletes to establish times in the 200 Free and 200 IM and we ended with a 25 Free for everyone. It was a great meet with loads of fast times! USA Swimming has just announced their 2012/2013 Scholastic All-American list and CSP's Luke Sloan was on the list. To be on the list an athlete must be a sophmore or higher in high school, must have a 3.5 GPA or higher, and must be faster than at least one of the swimming time standards set by USA Swimming. Congratulations to Luke on achieving such a great accomplishment. Luke goes to Saint Louis University High School and is a member of the Elite group.
This year CSP has set aside $5000 in Splash Aid for families that may need assistance. For the 2013 – 2014 Season, Splash Aid has been awarded. At this time we are taking no more requests for this season, however in May of 2014, we will open up Splash Aid again for the 2014 – 2015 Season.
