CSP has won the 8 & Under Championship more than 20 times since the first meet was held in 1996, and this year was no different. Coming off a great meet at the Ozark Division I Champs a week ago, we were looking to have some fun at this meet and the kids had a lot of fun! CSP went into the Ozark Division I Championship Meet after winning this meet 4 years in a row, and finished with their 5th straight win. CSP had 8 swimmers from our Elite group competing at the USA Swimming West Winter Junior Nationals this past weekend. There are 2 meets one in the East and one in the West. This year’s Ozark A Championship marks the 8th consecutive year that CSP has won this meet. Previously, no team in Ozark has won a Team Championship more than 6 years. USA Swimming just came out with it's Scholastic All-American list for the 2020-2021 school year. CSP has 5 of the 6 athletes on the list from Ozark. Making this year's list were: Caroline Foltz Eric Ji Anna Moehn JD Suarez Niko Theodos Eric made the list for the 3rd straight year. The first meet of the 2021-2022 Short Course Season was held in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the RCA Open Air Classic. Many swimmers from Senior, Senior II and Elite were in attendance and did a great job of competing. IMX and IMR is a motivational program, through USA Swimming, that allows swimmers across the nation to compare themselves to the thousands of other athletes in their age group. All your swimmer must do is swim a combination of events, at least one time per season, and USA Swimming automatically gives you your ranking. Once again CSP is the top team in Ozark for the both the Long Course and Short Course season for the year of 2020 - 2021, with the highest point totals in both we have ever earned. In the Long Course Season, CSP was 1st in Ozark, 7th in the Central Zone and 32nd Nationally. For the Short Course Season, we were 1st in Ozark, 6th in the Central Zone and 39th Nationally. CSP was the only team in Ozark to make the Top 100 in the Short Course Season.
CSP had 31 athletes attend NCSA Junior Nationals in Huntsville, Alabama this past week from Tuesday August 10th through Saturday August 14th. As a Team we finished in 3rd place which is our lowest finish in Team history. Our boys team finished in 2nd place capturing the boys Runner up team banner. The girls team finished in 5th place.
