CSP’s first Short Course Meet of the year took place down in Cape Girardeau at the RCA Open Air Classic. IMX and IMR is a motivational program, through USA Swimming, that allows swimmers across the nation to compare themselves to the thousands of other athletes in their age group. All your swimmer must do is swim a combination of events, at least one time per season, and USA Swimming automatically gives you your ranking. CSP finishes once again as the Top Team in Ozark in Virtual Club Championships for both the 2018 - 2019 Short Course and Long Course Seasons and were the only team in Ozark to be ranked in the Top 100 Nationally in both. For CSP this is the 6th straight year to be first in Ozark in the Short Course and 7th year in a row of being ranked in the Top 100 of the Nation. CSP sent 23 swimmers to Zones this year, which is more than any other club in Ozark. Our swimmers represented Ozark and CSP at each Age Group and they did amazing! JD Suarez set multiple Team Records for the 13 – 14 Boys (50 Back, 200 Back and 50 Fly), while also qualifying for NCSA Juniors in the 200 Back. This year’s Ozark Long Course Champs was a long but fun weekend! For the first time, CSP won that meet. For the first time ever in Ozark, a team has won all four of the Big LSC Championship Meets, so congrats to all the swimmers on a job well done! Ozark hosted this year’s Central Zone Multi Cultural Meet at the Chuck Fruit Aquatic Center. CSP had 19 athletes in attendance representing Ozark, as well as two coaches. This past weekend, Lily Hsieh, attended the Central Zone Select Camp. This camp was held at the University of Cinncinnati. In each of the four zones of USA Swimming, 28 male and 28 female swimmers were chosen to attend. Selected girls must be 12-13 at the time of performance, and selected boys must be 13-14 years old at the time of performance. The athletes of each gender are chosen based on their 2018 Long Course Meters (LCM) IMX Point Scores. Way to go Lily!
Getting in to the swing of Long Course, CSP had two long course meets this weekend, with the majority of our swimmers attending the John Traube Memorial Meet held in Edwardsville. Our swimmers continue to compete and race at incredible levels and we could not be more pleased with the early season success!
