PKWY Winter Classic
CSP went to the PKWY Winter Classic in strong numbers! The last meet of 2018 saw almost 200 Tideriders competing. This is a different meet from most as they run different tracks to determine who wins their age group.
The 8 & Unders have 2 tracks, one of the swimmers swimming all 4 50’s and another where they swim all 4 25’s of each stroke.
In the 25’s, Lily Steinmann was the Top Girl, while Emma Fouke, Ellis Halpert, Rosie Schneider and Ella Silverman all finished in the Top 10. Also completing the track of 25’s were Molly Moriarty, Amelia Beatty and Paige Haug. For the Boys, Thomas Goltermann and Ethan Miller both finished in the Top 10, while Connor Jostes, Seamus Miller and Lucas Theodos all completed their track as well.
In the 50’s, Kathryn Carr, Marissa Kelley, Sadie Cole and Kaedyn Miller placed in the Top 10 for the Girls, while Austin Chu won for the Boys.
8 & Under Swimmers winning events were Austin, Lily and Alicia Williams. Placing in the Top 8 were Kathryn, Sadie, Emma, Thomas, Ellis, Prairey Maxwell, Ethan and Ella. Finishing in the Top 16 were Anika Banerjee, Amelia, Wesley Givens, Paige, Kellie Ji, Connor, Marissa, Kaedyn, Seamus, Molly, Annarose, Lucas and Chloe Yong. Also, swimming at the PKWY Classic were Corrine Caprola, Nicholas Caprola, Annabelle Crall, Max Etherington, Charles Fleming, Ava Krebel, Lucy Meyer, Daniel Rios, Nathan Schneider, Adelia Schopfer, Henry Schopfer, Rohan Shah, Caroline Stevens and Joshua Yong.
For the 9 – 10 Year Olds, their tracks were the 50’s of each stroke or the 100’s of each stroke.
In the 50’s, Ema Stojicevic was the fastest girl, while Reese Anderson was third. Placing in the Top 10 were Evie Harris and Keira Palanca. Claire Norris, Idika Banerjee and Vivian Weitzel all completed the 50’s track. For the Boys, Camden Theodos was won while Trevor Gatz was third. Marc-Olivier Leguet placed in the Top 10, while Will Plassmeyer, Samuel Shenderov and Moose Givens completed the 50’s track.
In the 100’s, Mia Panic was the fastest girl, while Stephanie Rose and Maitland Michaelson placed in the Top 10. Max Boevingloh was the fastest boy, while Colin Cunneen was second and Keegan Brown was third.
Winning events in the 9 – 10 Age Group were Max, Colin, Mia, Ema and Camden. Placing in the Top 8 were Reese, Keegan, Trevor, Evie, Sam Hoberman, Brandon Hu, Camille Matlock, Keira, Will, Audrey Qureshi, Stephanie, William Unger and Arlo Ziolkowski. Finishing in the Top 16 were William Bugh, Samantha Cohen, Katherine Rose Ellenhorn, Samuel Etherington, Frances Igney, Sienna Kelley, Marco, Maitland, Tiernan Miller and Zach Withington. Also competing at the meet were Isabella Barac, Brooke Dunaway, Maxwell Frank, Claire Norris, Cecelia Phoenix, Avery Warwick and Adelyn Witt.
Tracks for the 11 – 12 Year Olds were the 50’s and 100’s of each stroke.
Placing third in the Girls Track was Macie DiGuiseppe, while also completing all 4 50’s was Noa Ben-Shahar, Natalie Claybaugh, Mia Hayden and Mika Finucane. Henry Unger won for the Boys, while Austin Theodos was third, and Wenxu He finished in the Top 10. Joe Eversman and James Palanca also completed the 50’s track for the Boys.
In the 100’s, Nicole Li won for the Girls while Lily Ta finished in second and Abby Carr and Isabel Phillips were in the Top 10. Xander Theodos was third for the Boys and Asher Cole was in the Top 10. Also completing the 100 Track for the Boys were Casey Chu and Andy Nelson.
Winning individual events for the 11 – 12 Year Olds were Karson Bluette, Abby, Nicole, Isabel, Xander, Henry and Tommy Wickersham. Finishing in the Top 8 were Jackson Bespalko, MJ Bezzant, Elijah Bihun, Alex Cohen, Asher, Kaitlyn Cragg, Bennett Cuculich, Joseph DiGuiseppe, Macie, Claire DuBois, Daniel Garza, Sophia Goodwin, Grace Kraeger, Caitlin Kuhlmann, Katie Laffey, Patrick Laffey, Christian Marren, Andy, Hannah Renaud, Penny Riswadkar, Lily, Austin, Lexi Thornton, Ella Welch, Evan Wiley, Madeleine Williams and Meg Willmann. Placing in the Top 16 were Noa, Casey, Ella Cooper, Avery Cunneen, Cate Fear, John Galakatos, Nico Grassi, Wenxu, Ari Hoberman and Emma Welch. Also competing were Grace Coppel, Noemi Crall, Ovya Diwakaran, Anna McAndrew, Amelia Shireman, Oliver Stern, Andrew Wang and Trevor Warwick.
The 13 – 14-Year-Old Tracks consisted all 4 50’s, 100’s or 200’s in order to be placed.
In the 50’s Lili Cooley and Patrick McGinley both placed in the Top 10 for the Girls and the Boys.
For the Girls 100, Madelyn Schoedel won, Jillian Thomason was second and Kathryn Chaves was third, while Everdine Ferguson, Emily Dieckhaus and Maggie Nelson all placed in the Top 10 and Emmy Hernandez also completed the 100 Track. JD Suarez won for the Boys, while Niko Theodos, Masis Bagautdinov, Trey Cunneen and Aidan Brawer all placed in the Top 10 while Christian Lawrence also completed the 100 Track.
In the 200 Track, Nora Lee Brown was second and Delia Zacks placed in the Top 5 for the Girls. Sam Ellenhorn was third for the Boys.
Winning events with the 13 – 14 Age Group were Margaret Beimdiek, Nora Lee, Sarah, Sam, Lily, Anya Liu, Ryan Mauney, Juliette Phillips, JD, Niko and Jillian. Placing in the Top 8 were Masis, Aidan, Jessica Briers, Liza Brown, Kathryn, Trey, Emily, Everdine, Audrey Goddard, Charlie Krasnoff, Christian, Patrick, Madelyn, Hunter Wilson and Delia. Finishing in the Top 16 were Lili, Emmy, Teddy Kouvelis, Maggie and Brendan Raskin. Also competing at the Winter Classic were Madison Bugh and Massimo Seifarth.
Mary Dieckhaus won the 100 Track for the 15 & Older Girls. Winning individual events were Mary, Benjamin Evra, Sam Garza, Eric Ji, Sophie Thompson and Wil Welch. Placing in the Top 8 were Alex Fox, Jackson Fox, Evan Holden and Andrew Seitz.
