CSP Summer Invitational Meet Wrap Up
The 76th CSP Summer Invitational was threatened by weather all weekend, but in the end, the swimmers won out! We had over 800 swimmers and some 20 teams, from five different states. CSP had the largest entry ever, with over 200 athletes attending! We also went with a Swim Your Own Age format for the 12 & Unders, which resulted in many new meet records, many more awards and lots of best times!
Swimmers making new Sectional Cuts were Brigid Andrews, Lexi Daniels, Evie Mauze, Abbey Owenby and Helen Wojdylo.
Swimmers making new Central Zones Cuts were Anna Scott Baur, Sarah Donohue, Peri George, Matthew Hillmer, Abbey Owenby and Drew Willmann.
Winning the High Point Award for the 7 Year Old Girls was Sadie Murphy, while Louis Chen won for the 7 Year Old Boys. Louis established all four of the meet records for the 7 Year Old Boys, while Sadie set one of the Girls records. Winning events were Louis and Sadie, while placing in the Top 8 were Vipul Bansal, Anya Desai, Tyler He, Cameron LeGros, Lochlan McGowan, Meg Willmann, and Henry Zucker. Finishing in the Top 16 were Ella Cooper, Grace Coppel, Chandler Grimm, Ella Welch and Emma Welch, while also swimming with the 7 year olds was Jenna Song.
Winning the High Point Award for the 8 Year Old Girls was Lily Hseih. Lily also won individual events and set two meet records as well as breaking our Team Record in the 50 Back. Placing in the Top 8 were Aidan Brawer, Everdine Ferguson, Daniel Garza, Hennessy McGowan and Kennedy McGowan. Finishing in the Top 16 were Jackson Cooper, Sydney Gross, Mitchell Hardeman, Caitlin Kuhlmann, Jillian Thomason, Sophia Xu and Delia Zacks. Also swimming with the 8 Year Olds was Amara Autry and Sutton Suelthaus.
In the 8 & Under Relays, the Girls team of Everdine, Kennedy, Sadie and Lily set the meet record winning the 200 Free Relay, while Delia, Hennessy, Sydney and Meg were 2nd, and Lochlan, Ella, Emma and Anya were 3rd. In the Boys 200 Free Relay, Henry, Tyler, Aidan and Daniel were 2nd. In the Medley Relay, Everdine, Hennessy, Lily and Kennedy were first, while Sophia, Anya, Sadie and Meg were 3rd and Emma, Delia, Sydney and Lochlan were 4th. The Boys team of Henry, Daniel, Aidan and Tyler won.
In the 9 Year Old Age Group, winning events and establishing the meet records were Sammie Esparza and Graham Zucker. Placing in the Top 8 were Sarah Donohue, Bryson Liang, Collin Logsdon and Katherine Roderick. Placing in the Top 16 were Ryan Blinder, Amelia Dino, Taylor Hamrah, Morgan Hast, Teddy Kouvelis, Jasmine Li, Katie Murdoch, Brendan Raskin and Adithya Suresh. Also swimming with the 9 Year Old Girls were Katherine Bias, Losan Huang and Alicia Palatt.
In the 10 Year Old Age Group, winning events was Sophie Henriksen, while Anna Scott Baur broke the previous meet record in the 50 Breast. Anna Scott Baur, Margaret Beimdiek, Maya Esparza, Eric Ji, Charlie Krasnoff, Catherine Liao, Ryan Mauney, Cameron McCrary, Lee Naber and Ethan Nagasako all placed in the Top 8. Finishing in the Top 16 were Clay Derdeyn, Erik Ely, Daniel Geno, Brendan O’Meara, Dean Schwager, Andrew Smock and Sophie Thompson. Also swimming were Nicole Alper-Esko, Junnie Bae, Sophie Bragg, Chloe Hagemann, Erin Lamping, Kaia Mills-Lee and Francesca Westendorf.
In the Girls 200 Free Relay, Sarah, Sophia, Maya and Sophie were 1st, while Anna Scott, Margaret, Catherine and Sammie were 4th, Kaia, Katherine, Morgan and Amelia were 10th and Nicole, Katie, Katherine and Alicia were 13th. For the Boys, Lee, Eric, Andrew and Graham won, while Cameron, Ethan, Brendan and Ryan were 3rd and Charlie, Clay, Collin and Brendan were 5th.
In the Medley Relay, Sarah, Anna Scott, Sophie and Maya were 1st, Margaret, Kaia, Sammie and Sophie were 3rd and Katie, Morgan, Amelia and Katherine were 5th for the Girls. For the Boys, Cameron, Eric, Graham and Lee were 1st, while Brendan, Ryan, Ethan and Charlie were 2nd.
In the 11 Year Old Age Group, placing in the Top 8 were Koji Barrette, Madeleine Collier, Audrey Dino, Henry Hardeman, Evan Holden, Karissa Kantz, Madigan Kinsey, Nathan Lin, Maddoc McGowan, Maddie Palatt, Kaitlyn Rowbottom and Michael Tu. Samuel Garza, Sarah Hickenbotham, Matthew Kinney, Amelia Koch and Ingrid Stahl all finished in the Top 16. Also swimming with the 11 Year Olds were Avery Bantrup, Preston Brouillet, Graham Fredman, Amy Pumm, Noah Smock, McClain Suelthaus and Jonah Zacks.
In the 12 Year Old Age Group, Drew Willmann won an individual event and set the Meet Record as well. Placing in the Top 8 were Lauren Beard, Benjamin Blinder, Meaghan Cannon, Benjamin Evra, Colin Fitzgerald, Sophie Fredman, Max Kostelac and Andrew O’Brien. Meghan Bryan, Hutton Murdoch, Molly Nikkel, Elisabeth Ragan, Caroline Roderick and Noah Unger all finished in the Top 16. Also swimming in the 12 Year Old Age Group were Carly Fesler, Parker Hagemann, Grace Hattrich, Katie He, Jason Li, Lily Ragan, Michael Shapshovich and Cora Vulin.
In the 11 – 12 Relays, Madeleine, Elisabeth, Lauren and Meaghan were 3rd, while Carly, Sophie, Maddie, and Kaitlyn were 9th, Lily, Katie, Parker and Meghan were 10th, and Avery, Caroline, Amelia and Amy were 11th in the Free Relay, while for the Boys, Andrew, Koji, Drew and Hutton were 1st, Colin, Bejamin, Maddoc and Nathan were 6th and Graham, Joey, Noah and Benjamin were 9th.
In the Medley Relays, Meaghan, Sophie, Kaitlyn and Madeleine were 2nd, Caroline, Lauren, Meghan and Elisabeth were 5th, Amelia, Molly, Karissa and Lily were 6th and Sarah, Madigan, Katie and Amy were 8th. For the Boys, Andrew, Drew, Colin and Koji were first, while Michael, Benjamin, Nathan and Hutton were 2nd and Maddoc, Benjamin, Noah and Joey were 5th.
In the 13 – 14 Age Group, winning individual events was Brigid Andrews, while placing in the Top 8 were Alex Benduski, Jack Bodnar, Katie Brodersen, Aaron Garner, Peri George, Allie Hickenbotham, Matthew Hillmer, Christina Jurotich, Taylor Korte, Cami Nourie, Abbey Owenby, Sam Porter, Michael Raskin and Wil Welch. Finishing in the Top 16 were Michaela Bach, Nicole Beard, William Bias, Claire Brouillet, Alex Fox, Matthew Graham, Katie Knapp, Reid Rogers and Megan Ross. Also swimming with the 13 – 14 Age Group were Christopher Ball, Julia Beliz, Lauren Bell, Thad Bilderback, Martha Geering, Alexa Kouvelis, Charlotte Marshall, Ellie Marshall, Ernie McCarter, Riley Schelp, David Shapshovich and Jake Varela.
In the Open Age Group, winning individual events were Samm Crocker, Lexi Daniels, Sarah Finlay, Evie Mauze, Gabby Vieira and Lydia Welty. Also finishing in the Top 8 were Justin Andrews, Cameron Back, Colin Burke, Rebecca Corzine, Maggie Cox, Ashley Daniels, Benjamin Edwards, Jeffrey Martin, Sophia Marusic, Melissa Melnick, Michael Nester, Christopher Reichert, Collin Schott, Luke Sloan and Helen Wojdylo. Placing in the Top 16 were Tiger Chen, Max Goldenberg, Erin Kelly, Mikayla Kempf, Vaios Kouvelis and Bridget Sheridan. Competing in the Top 24 were Jillian Behrens and Nicole Shearing. Also swimming in the meet were Peter Baugh, Lucas Doll, Sarah Fauska, Jillian Franks, Audrey Kelly, Todd Kriss, Geneva Lee, Ester Ochoa, Jael Ochoa, Iyayi Ogbevoen, Mary O’Leary, Anna Reichert and Lily Reisinger.
