Long Course Champs Wrap Up

We couldn’t have had any more luck with the weather at Long Course Champs.  For the first time in a number of years this meet was hosted at an outdoor facility.  We took 52 athletes to Cape Girardeau and the kids did a great job.  Sarah Donohue broke the 8 & Under Girls 100 Free, while Madeleine Collier and Drew Willmann added more events to their swims for the Central Zones Championship!  Benjamin Edwards and Helen Wojdylo both earned new Sectional Cuts, and many other great times were achieved.  We had 10 new “AAA” times, 13 new “AA” times 21 new “A” times and 6 new “BB” times.  (Check out photos from the meet in the Club Information tool bar when logged in to your account)

In High Points Helen Wojdylo won for the 15 & Over Girls, while Rebecca Corzine was second for the 13 – 14 Girls and Koji Barrette was third for the 10 & Under Boys,

Winning individual events were Madeleine Collier, Rebecca Corzine, Samm Crocker andHelen Wojdylo.

Those swimmers who placed in the Top 8 were Brigid Andrews, Koji Barrette, Nicole Beard, Jillian Behrens, Katie Brodersen, Claire Brouillet, Natalie Crocker, Peter Crocker, Benjamin Edwards,Maya Esparza, Alex Fox, Peri George, Matthew Hillmer, Christina Jurotich, Karissa Kantz, Madigan Kinsey, Katie Knapp, Catherine Liao, Claire Lin, Nathan Lin, Morgan Maguire, Maddoc McGowan, Michael Nester, Iyayi Ogbevoen, Mary O’Leary, Drew Willmann andGraham Zucker.

Swimmers who finished in the Top 16 were Lauren Beard, Jack Bodnar, Colin Burke, Caroline Davis, Audrey Dino, Sarah Donohue,Jillian Franks, Sophie Fredman, Aaron Garner, Sophia Marusic, Cami Nourie, Sam Porter, Michael Raskin, Megan Ross andKaitlyn Rowbottom.

In the Relays, Koji, Nathan, Graham and Maddoc teamed up to win both the 10 & Under Boys 200 Medley and Free Relays. 

In the 10 & Under Girls Medley Relays, Maya, Madigan, Madeleine and Karissa teamed up to place 3^rd, and Audrey, Catherine, Amy Pumm and Sarah placed 7^th.   In the Free Relays, Madeleine, Sarah, Karissa and Maya were 3^rd, while Madigan, Catherine, Amy and Audrey were 8^th. 

In the 11 – 12 Girls Medley Relays, Lauren, Claire, Katie and Megan were 5^th, while Alex, Sophie, Kaitlyn and Megan Bryan were 8^th.  In the Free Relays, Claire, Megan R, Alex and Katie were 6^th, and Sophie, Kaitlyn, Megan B and Lauren were 10^th.   

In the 13 – 14 800 Free Relays, Natalie, Rebecca, Katie and Christina were 2^nd, Cami, Peri, Sophia and Claire were 5^th, and for the Boys, Matthew, Jack, Sam and Alex Benduski were 5^th.   In the Medley Relays, Natalie, Rebecca, Peri and Bridgid were 2^nd and for the Boys, Aaron, Matthew, Jack and Alex were 7^th.  The 400 Free Relays saw Rebecca, Natalie, Brigid and Sophia placing 2^nd, Christina, Katie, Peri and Cami in 5^th, and Matthew, Jack, Sam and Alex were 6^th for the Boys.

In the 15 & Over 800 Free Relays, Helen, Morgan, Jillian B and Mary were 4^th.  For the Medley Relays, Jillian F, Helen, Samm and Jillian B were 2^nd, while the Boys team of Iyayi, Benjamin, Michael and Peter were 5^th.  In the 400 Free Relays, Samm, Helen, Jillian B and Morgan were 2^nd, while Peter, Iyayi, Colin and Benjamin were 5^th.

Also competing at the meet for the Tideriders were Meaghan Cannon, Nancy Hulslander and Mikayla Kempf.
