CSP Competes in Two Meets Fourth of July Weekend

We had two swim meets the Fourth of July weekend and had many coaches going many different directions.  Our group that we took to the meet held at Notre Dame did an outstanding job.  It was so nice being at an indoor facility on the campus of Notre Dame.  Lots of fast swimming by CSP was done at this meet.  In fact, CSP took about 45 swimmers to the meet and came out on top!  We had a number of athletes placing in the Top 3 and winning their age group High Points as well.  Also at the meet we had discovered that Graham Zucker (Age Group) had broken our team’s 8 & Under 50 Back Stroke Record a couple of meets ago.  Way to go Graham!

In the 10 & Unders, Koji Barrette won multiple individual events and scored the most points of all the 10 & Unders in the meet.  Madigan Kinsey and Graham Zucker both placed in the Top 8 and McClain Suelthaus placed in the Top 24.

In the 11 – 12 year old age group, Jack Bodnar, Bailey Hahn and Cami Nourie each won individual events.  Cami and Jack both placed 3rd in their High Point running.  Placing in the Top 8 were Lauren Beard, Alex Fox, Katie Knapp, Andrew O’Brien and Drew Willmann.  Meghan Bryan placed in the Top 16 and Michaela Stambaugh had 100% Best Times!  Winning both the 200 Medley and Free Relays were Cami, Alex, Katie and Lauren.

In the 13 – 14 year old age group, Colin Burke, Matthew Hillmer andMelissa Melnick all won individual events, while Colin also won the High Point Award for the Boys.  Finishing in the Top 8 were Brigid Andrews, Katie Brodersen, Rebecca Corzine andChristina Jurotich.  Placing in the Top 16 were Nicole Beard and Riley Deutsch.  Placing 3rd in the Girls 400 Medley Relay were Brigid, Christina, Rebecca and Melissa.  Those same four girls also placed 4th in the Girls 400 Free Relay.

In the 15 & Over age group, Cameron Back, Sarah Finlay and Gabriela Vieira all won individual events, while Sarah Finlay finished in 2nd place for the Girls High Point, and Luke Sloan won for the Boys.  Finishing in the Top 8 were Justin Andrews, Maggie Cox, Haley Debandt, Benjamin Edwards, Sarah Fauska, Jack Finlay, Nicole Maurer, Mary O’Leary, Lily Reisinger, Collin Schott, Luke Sloan andLydia Welty.  And placing in the Top 16 were Michael Nester, Jonathan Scholten andBridget Sheridan.  Winning the Girls 400 Medley Relay were Sarah Finlay, Lydia, Gabriela and Lily, while Bridget, Maggie, Haley and Sarah Fauska were 4th.  In the Boys 400 Medley, Jack, Luke, Cameron and Justin were 4th, while Collin, Benjamin, Jonathan and Michael were 7th.  Winning the Girls 400 Free Relay were Sarah Finlay, Lydia, Gabriela and Lily, while Nicole, Maggie, Haley and Sarah Fauska were 2nd.  In the Boys 400 Medley Relay, Justin, Luke, Jack and Jonathan were 3rd and Cameron, Collin, Andrew Litteken and Michael were 4th

The second meet of the weekend was the FAST Summer Invitational.  This was a brand new meet this season for the Tideriders.  CSP sent about 35 swimmers to this meet and they all competed very well.  This meet was set up a bit differently than most, wit there only being two age groups, 12 & Under and 13 & Over.  Claire Lin and Wil Welch both won an individual event, while placing in the Top 8 were Alex Benduski, Meaghan Cannon, Caroline Davis, Jillian Franks, Sophie Fredman, Matthew Graham, Nathan Lin andIyayi Ogbevoen.  Finishing in the Top 16 were Nolan Alper-Esko, Anna Scott Baur, Claire Brouillet, Eric Ji, Jan Kasal, Catherine Liao andSam Porter.   Also swimming at the FAST Summer Invite were Nicole Alper-Esko, Margaret Beimdiek, Sophie Bragg, Preston Brouillet, Izzy Destefano, Maya Esparza, Sammy Esparza, Graham Fredman, Taylor Hamrah, Morgan Hast, Evan Holden, Eva Kasal, Charles Krasnoff, Monet Mohler, Andrew Smock and Noah Smock.
