CSP Perfoms Amazingly at the Rec Plex Fall Festival
For the second meet in as many weeks, the Tideriders looked great. Our swimmers achieved more “A” times, had 73% best times and set three new records! Colleen Young set two American Records in one race, breaking the 50 yard breast stroke as well as setting the 100 yard breast stroke American Record. Lydia Welty dominated the 200 IM and broke the Tiderider team record by .09, swimming to a time of 2:07.86. That record has stood since 1988. Way to go girls!
This was also our first meet with relays, and the Tideriders were off to the races. CSP won all but two relays, including winning all of the Free Relays on Sunday. In the 8 & Under Relays, CSP won all four relays offered. In the Medley, Margaret Beimdieck, Anna Scott Baur, Noa Longman and Alli Lakebrink won, while Izzy Destefano, Kennedy McGowan, Sarah Donohue and Nicole Alper-Esko were second for the girls. In the Free Relays, Izzy, Margaret, Sarah and Alli were first, Lauren Matthews, Nicole, Kennedy and Molly Kirby were third and Piper Hoekel, Taylor Hamrah, Sophia Bragg and Leila Fischer were fourth. The boys team of Eric Ji, Jeremy Kang, Graham Zucker and Colin Logsdon were first in both the Medley and Free Relays.
The 10 and Under Relays were exciting as they got to do 100 Relays, meaning that each swimmer swam a 25 for their leg of the race. In the Girls Medley, Caroline Roderick, Elizabeth Wiese, Madeleine Collier and Meg Bryan were second, Kaitlyn Rowbottom, Lily Ragan, Elisabeth Ragan and Olivia Morales were third, and Lauren Becker, Amy Pumm, Sophie Thompson and McLain Suelthaus were fourth. Winning the Girls Free Relay was Elizabeth, Caroline, Meg and Lauren Beard, while Kaitlyn, Sophia Fredman, Elisabeth, and Amelia Koch were third, Hennesy McGowan, Madigan Kinsey, Lily, and Amy were sixth, and Zoe Shanks, Lauren, Payton Hoekel and Sophia King were seventh. On the Boys side, Drew Willmann, Ben Evra, Koji Barrette and Jackson Fox won both the Medley and Free Relays. Noah Unger, Ethan Nagasako, Justin Goldenberg and Charlie Bryan finished fourth in the Medley, while in the Free, Lewis Dennison, Graham Fredman, Noah and Graham Mills were third, and Ethan, Charlie, Maddoc McGowan and Evan Holden were fourth.
In the 11 – 12 Girls Medley, Riley Deutsch, Christina Jurotich, Peri George and Natalie Crocker won, while Caroline Davis, Katie Knapp, Corinne Michael and Cami Nourie were second, Caroline Liekweg, Alex Fox, Lauren Bell and Nancy Hulslander were fourth and Bailey Hahn, Lydia Schmidt, Charlotte Marshall and Erin McKenzie were sixth. Winning the Free Relay was Corrine, Christina, Peri and Natalie, while Carloline, Caroline, Cami and Katie were third, Riley, Nicole Beard, Lauren and Nancy were fourth, Erin, Charlotte, Ellie Marshall and Alex Fox were fifth. For the Boys Relays, Alex Miller, Will Young, Jake Varela and Jack Bodnar won both the Medley and the Free, while Matt Graham, Wil Welch, Avery Fredman and Aaron Garner were second in the Medley, and Wil, Matt, Avery and Alex Benduski were third in the Free.
In the 13 – 14 Girls, Melissa Melnick, Audrey Kelly, Lexi Daniels and Lydia Welty won both the Medley and Free Relays, while Evie Mauze, Colleen Young, Rebecca Corzine and Erin Kelly were second, Stephanie Morse, Sophia Marusic, Claire Albert and Jillian Behrens were fourth, and Anna Reichert, Katie Brodersen, Carlye Goldenberg and Sydney Giacin were sixth for the Medley Relays. In the Free Relays, Erin, Sophia, Evie and Rebecca were second, Jillian, Claire, Stephanie and Colleen were fourth, and Sophia Garland, Carlye, Katie and Anna were sixth. For the Boys, Iyayi Ogbevoen, Toby Young, Tiger Chen and Jeff Martin won the Medley and Spencer Anderson, Tristan Belzer, Eric Graham and Reid Rogers were second. Winning the Free Relay was Jeff, Iyayi, Tiger and Collin Schott, while Max Goldenberg, Eric, Tristan and Reed were third.
In the 15 & Over Girls, Gabby Vieira, Sarah Finlay, Danielle Sikora and Samm Crocker won the Medley, while Rachel Kokenyesi, Ashley Daniels, Haley Debandt and Grace Stiegemeyer were second and Bridget Sheridan, Meghan Glogoza, Nicole Maurer and Claire Rater were fourth. Winning the Free Relay was Gabby, Sarah, Grace and Maggie Cox, Ashley, Rachel, Danielle and Sarah were second, Haley, Jillian Franks, Ashley Reichert and Nicole were sixth and Meghan, Bridget, Mary Kathryn O’Leary and Sophie Allen were seventh. On the Boys side, Chris Reichert, Nicholas Reichert, Hunter Mehring and Vaios Kouvelis were second, while winning the Free Relay by .01 was Hunter, Chris, Cameron Back and Luke Sloan.
CSP did just as good in the individual events as we did in the relays.
