Performance Highlights from the FAST IMX Kickoff
The first meet of the 2012 – 2013 Short Course Season was the FAST IMX Kickoff, and the CSP Tideriders were ready to perform. We had 167 athletes compete at the meet. That is one of our highest totals at a non CSP hosted meet! As a team we had 76% best times, which is outstanding.
This meet is a different format than most meets. They had two different categories running this meet. The first category was the IMX Score, and to place in that you had to have swum the 200 IM, 200 Free, 100 Back, Breast, and Fly for the 9 – 10 year olds. 11 – 12 year olds had to have swum the 200 IM, 500 Free, 100 Back, Breast and Fly, while the 13 & older swimmers needed to have swum the 200 IM, 400 IM, 500 Free, 200 Back, Breast and Fly. What a tough haul for swimmers to do for certain, but we had a number of swimmers do very well and compete in the IMX portion of the meet. Abbey Owenby, Matthew Hilmer, Lexi Daniels, Lydia Welty, Sarah Finlay and Luke Sloan all finished second in their respective age groups, while Erin Kelly was third.
The second category was the IM Ready aspect of the meet, and like the IMX portion, there were certain events that you needed to compete in, in order place. 10 & Unders needed to swim the 100 IM, 100 Free and the 50’s of Fly, Back and Breast. 11 – 12 year old swimmers needed to swim the 100 IM, 200 Free, 50 Fly, Back and Breast. 13 – 14 year old swimmers needed to swim in the 200 Free, 100 Free, Back, Breast and Fly in order to score. Winning the IM Ready portion were Meg Bryan for the 10 year old girls, Ben Evra for the 10 year old boys, and Katie Knapp for the 12 year old girls. Placing second in the IM Ready was Graham Fredman, while Anna Scott Baur, Jackson Fox, Caryle Goldenberg and Julia Tackes all finished third in their age groups. Anna Scott was the only 8 year old to place in the Top 3!
We had a number of great performances turned in by our entire team.
