Patriot Aquatic Club Winter Invitational
We took a large group of swimmers to the Patriot Aquatic Club Winter Invitational over the weekend and CSP impressed! Chicago was cold and had snow on the ground, but that didn’t stop CSP from swimming fast. As a team, CSP finished second in the meet, only behind the host team PAC. The Boys scored more points than all other teams, while the girls finished third. We also had two athletes win High Point Awards, Melissa Melnick (11 – 12 Girls) and Hunter Mehring (15 & Over Boys). Placing in the Top 5 High Points were Nancy Hulslander (10 & Under Girls), Andrew O’Brien (10 & Under Boys), Justin Andrews (13 – 14 Boys), Elizabeth Krane (15 & Over Girls), Luke Sloan, Michael Seifert andEaston Noble (15 & Over Boys). Other high lights included Melissa Melnick breaking her 100 Free Record for the 11 – 12 Girls, the ice cream social held at the team hotel on Sunday, and of course all of the fun being had at the teams first out of town meet for the new year!
In the 8 & Under Age Group, placing in the Top 8 were Lewis Dennison, Maya Esparza andJustin Goldenberg. Placing in the Top 16 were Sammie Esparza, Joseph Gill, Daniel Ng andKatherine Roderick. In the Medley Relays, the girls team of Katherine, Sammie, Maya and Alicia Palatt were 3rd place, while the boys team of Joseph, Lewis, Justin and Daniel were 1st!
In the 9 – 10 Age Group, placing in the Top 8 were Koji Barrette, Nancy Hulslander,Andrew O’Brienand Caroline Roderick. Placing in the Top 16 were Lauren Beard, Ethan Doll, Jackson Fox, Molly Nikkel and Madeline Pallat. Madigan Kinsey also competed with the 10 & Under girls. In the Medley Relay, the girl’s team of Nancy, Molly, Lauren and Caroline were 6th, while the boys team of Andrew, Jackson, Koji and Ethan were 5th. In the Free Relays, the girls team of Nancy, Lauren, Caroline and Madeline were 2nd and the boy’s team of Andrew, Jackson, Koji and Ethan were 5th.
In the 11 – 12 Age Group, Melissa Melnick won multiple events. Placing in the Top 8 were Peri George, Katie Jackson, Christina Jurotich, Evie Mauze, Alex Miller, Abbey Owenby, andWill Young. Placing in the Top 16 were Michaela Bach, Jack Bodnar, Katie Brodersen, Lucas Doll, Matthew Graham andWil Welch. In the Girls Medley Relays, Evie, Katie, Peri and Melissa were 3rd, Abbey, Christina, Sophie Breitmeyer and Brigid Andrews were 8th, Willa Nagy, Michaela, Katie and Cami Nourie were 9th, Alexa Kouvelis, Alex Fox, Nicole Beard andMary Sztukowski were 11th, and Joni Halliday, Megan Ross, Kat Kramer andRachel Crane were 12th. In the Girls Free Relay, Melissa, Abbey, Evie and Katie were 3rd, Brigid, Peri, Katie and Christina were 7th, Will, Sophie, Cami and Mary were 9th, Megan, Rachel, Michaela and Alexa were 10th, while Alex, Nicole, Bailey Hahn and Joni were 11th. In the Boys Relays, Matt, Will, Wil and Jack were 6th in the Medley and Matt, Lucas, Alex and Jack were 6th in the Free. Also competing at the PAC Meet were Matthew Ng andLydia Schmidt.
In the 13 – 14 Age Group, Justin Andrews and Collin Schott both won individual events. Placing in the Top 8 were Rebecca Corzine, Benjamin Edwards, Max Goldenberg, Audrey Kelly, Erin Kelly, Michael Nester andToby Young. Placing in the Top 16 were Elizabeth Barrett, Sophia Garland, Carlye Goldenberg andEric Graham. Lizzie Baker also competed with the 13 – 14 girls.
In the 15 & Over Age Group,Hunter Mehring and Luke Sloan all won individual events. Placing in the Top 8 were Cameron Back, Laura Bilsborrow, Garrett Knasel, Elizabeth Krane, Easton Noble,Jonathan Scholten andMichael Seifert. Placing in the Top 16 were Meghan Bach, Vaios Kouvelis.
In the 13 & Over Girls Medley Relays Elizabeth, Erin, Meghan and Samantha Gill were 10th, while Jillian Behrens, Sophie Allen, Sophia and Dani Skor were 20th. In the Girls Free Relays Meghan Rebecca, Elizabeth and Erin were 17th and Carlye, Dani, Jillian and Samantha were 19th.
In the 13 & Over Boys Medley Relays, Hunter, Easton, Michael and Luke were 1st, Cameron, Justin, Jonathan and Garrett were 3rd, and Collin, Benjamin, Michael and Vaios were 6th. In the Free Relays, Easton, Michael and Luke were 1st, Cameron, Justin, Jonathan and Garrett were 3rd, Vaios, Michael, Toby and Collin were 4th.
